Saving & Investments

In credit union language, a savings account is called a “share account.” When you open yours at NICCU with a minimum $25 deposit, you’re buying your share of ownership in the Credit Union. You’ll earn interest on your savings, and the money you deposit enables us to make loans to other Credit Union members, thus completing the cooperative circle. Plus, your deposits are federally insured for up to at least $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), and eligible share savings accounts are automatically covered with life savings insurance at no cost to you.

Once your share account is opened, you can take advantage of all the other products and services NICCU offers, including these other savings accounts:

Systematically save:

  • Direct Deposit
    • After your Direct Deposit is credited to your designated account, you can set it up to automatically be distributed into multiple accounts, such as your savings account, children’s savings accounts, a Christmas Club account, or a loan account. Get details
  • Automatic Transfers
    • With this service, you can arrange to automatically make periodic transfers (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) from your checking account or savings account to your other NICCU accounts—loans and savings accounts. This flexible system works just the way you want it to.

Looking to set up direct deposit or automatic payments? You’ll need NICCU’s ROUTING NUMBER, which is 273975564. You will also need your complete account number. Contact an NICCU staff member to help you.
